1. What is this WhiskEmail service about?
WhiskEmail, one of the services by Whisk Technologies, provides you the means to be able to send versatile emails by SMS. The system for receiving emails by SMS is currently under development, but we also provide a free email address username@whisktech.com where you can receive the replies to your WhiskEmail and have them forwarded to your own personal email account.

2. Do I need to pay for this service?
WhiskEmail currently comes with 3 basic functions.
(a) Sending email via SMS
(b) Receiving email via an email account username@whisktech.com which can be forwarded to your personal email account
(c) Receiving email via SMS (still in development)

Services (a) and (b) are provided for free, thus the only charges you incur are those to your mobile phone operator for the SMS you send out (depending on your subscription plan).
However, the optional service (c) is currently provided for free (once available fully) with no immediate plans of charging or limiting the number of WhiskEmails that can be received.

3. How do I use WhiskEmail?

4. Will I receive spam on my handphone?
This service is catered for two main purposes:
(a) your convenience and mobility to email on the move
(b) to allow you to have a link between your handphone and the internet, without the risk of publishing your handphone number to anyone and everyone

As such, Whisk Technologies assures every user that they will not receive any advertisements, spam, or unsolicited messages via email or on their mobile phone, originating from registering for this service, with the exception of important WhiskEmail announcements.

5. What are my personal particulars used for?
WhiskEmail requires your personal information as this service involves indirect sending of your emails through our mail protocols. We foresee that there may be a large pool of users in future and thus we need to implement this in order to prevent abuse of the system. Rest assured that your information is safe for us, and will not be used for any other purposes other than for account administration.

6. Is this service open to international users?
Yes, WhiskEmail is open to all international users as well (i.e. those with mobile phone operators not originating from Singapore). However, you will be unable to receive WhiskEmail sent to you via SMS, as we cannot provide this service currently. But you will be able to use the forwarding service with the free email account we provide to you. In addition, as stated in the answer to question 2, the costs you incur from WhiskEmail-ing will be from your mobile phone operator, possibly that of global SMS charges.
